The Hazardous Environment Construction Suit is a combination jumpsuit and rigging equipment. The suit is standard issue to any worker who is assigned to construction on the elevator itself. It is built of a durable material that is easy to patch and has high visibility patches built into it. It also features a series of carabiners and cables, allowing workers to secure themselves. The suit however is not rated to work out of atmosphere and does not include oxygen equipment. Those are issued to workers who specifically are assigned at a higher altitude. Despite having been built with safety in mind, work site casualties are quite common including several deaths a week from people falling off the elevator itself. Publicly this is blamed on human error and not any issues with the equipment although many internally question the quality and capability suits in the field.
